Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Bulange and Lubiri Palace.
We shall be picked by our driver/guide from the hotel we slept in (in case you are already in Uganda) we shall drive towards Mengo trading centre, a small modernized area within Rubaga division having a hospital, church, market, schools and good hotels. Bulange serves as the traditional seat of Buganda Parliament; also recently closed CBS radio was located. It’s well known for its colonial architecture and enclosed wall as well as its strategic location on Mengo hill. Buganda elders and the King meet here to discuss vital issues concerning the kingdom’s status. The Lubiri once served as Mwanga’s palace. Learn and discover the history of this great kingdom. Get to also visit the Rubaga catholic cathedral and Kabaka’s lake which is opposite the newly constructed Pentecostal Cathedral church. We shall visit the Gadaffi mosque, one of the biggest mosque in Sahara Africa, we shall visit the Roman Catholic Church (Rubaga cathedral) a place of memories to the Christian in Uganda with its outstanding architecture.  We shall have entertainment from Ndere troupe were by we shall have a chance to see some of the cultural dances, beliefs in Uganda in practice by the troupe. After we shall dine and lodge at Ndere cultural center

Day 2: Namugongo then Jinja

After breakfast, we shall visit the Namugongo shrine, a place of memories, this is where the Ugandan Christian’s died for their religion who are commonly known as Uganda Martyrs. They died at the hands of Kabaka Mwanga who was the King at that moment in Uganda and simply they denied his requests to renounce their faith, he ordered for their death. We shall visit the Independence monument one of the place which indicates that you are in Uganda, and a sign that Uganda is an independent country.  We shall head to the National Museum in Kamwokya. It is the best and oldest museum in East Africa having deeply rooted ethnographic collection all contributing to the background of Uganda as a nation. There are exhibits of different traditional Ugandan lifestyles, musical instruments from most parts of the continent among other things. We continue to Ssezibwa Falls east of Kampala, which was once a favorite spot for the Kabaka Mwanga and Mutesa., where they planted trees themselves. This mysterious falls are believed to have been birthed by a woman who instead of giving birth to children came out with “Twin Rivers”. Ssezibwa and Mobeya, still believed to inhibit the river. The falls is attached to supernatural significance of the birth of twins up to today. Besides culture, the falls is a beautiful place with pretty waters, associated with fringing trees and a prolific bird list. We shall dine and lodge at Smile guest house

Day 3: Source of the Nile and Katereke Prison
After breakfast we shall visit the Source of the Nile, have a boat ride to the memorable source of the Nile, lucky enough the source is in Uganda, which was found by Sir Samuel Baker and then after we shall visit the Katereke prison. Katereke Prison ditch was constructed by Kabaka Kalema in the late 1880’s for those who opposed him.  These were mainly his brothers and family members and he went further and massacred them in order to get rid of future succession. Instead this worsened his reign and later led to his fall. We shall have a walk around Jinja town to visit the different sites which were created by the Indians before they were chased by the Late President Amin of Uganda. We shall dine and lodge at Smile guest house.

Day 4: Drive to Entanda cultural center.
After breakfast we shall drive to Entanda cultural center by our safari guide who will brief you about this exciting one day cultural tour at the Entanda cultural center. He will drive you to Kijjude Village driving along the Kampala-Mityana main road

On arrival, you will be separated into two groups in which you will enjoy the various day’s activities; men and women. The men will go on a traditional hunting expedition with spears, sticks, nets and any additional equipment led by guides and accompanied by dogs. During this you will traverse the forest and verdant valleys as you track down animals. This fun-filled activity does not involve killing of animals but rather offer you a chance to come close with some of the animals living in the wild as well as learn about the traditional hunting skills of Ugandan

The women, in the meantime, will be taught how to prepare some of the traditional meals including the tasty ‘chicken luwombo’. Afterwards, they will led by the senga “visit-the-bush” to have a discussion on the bedroom secrets. They will later participate in various traditional games such as netball, tree swinging, arrow-shooting and rope skipping.

Eventually all the guests will come together for a nice hot lunch. The food will be uniquely served to you the traditional way in the open air. There will also be a buffet of fresh fruits including mangoes, pineapples, passion fruits, sugarcane, wild berries, avocados, pawpaw, jackfruits, guavas, watermelon and oranges.

the men Immediately after lunch, will ‘visit-the-bush’ to discuss with the elderly uncles traditionally known as ‘kojjas’ sharing about the bedroom secrets and the men’s roles in a traditional African family.

Later visitor will play some football (a goat will be won by the winning team and this can be roasted), do some gardening or cow grazing.

At the end of the day, our driver will drive you to Entebbe and this will be then end of our one day tour. We shall dine and lodge at Airport guest house.

Day 5: Return to Kampala

After breakfast we shall drive to Lake Victoria to aboard a boat to Ngamba Island the Chimpanzee sanctuary. Activities to be done include: Chimpanzee viewing and feeding, island shopping, bird watching, swimming on the equator, visiting a neighboring fishing village, Bird watching, experiencing other wildlife encounters, or simply sunbathing and relaxing after we shall either drive back to our lodge (organized by ourselves) or drive to the Airport for our flight back home after refreshments, carrying memories of Uganda.
